April Fool’s Day Virus | Conflicker C
I’m about to hit the bed and instead of turning off the TV I changed the channel to check what’s on the news, then suddenly they flashed this update regarding the April Fool’s Day Virus / Conflicker C. It says there that it is set to attack today. The experts says that this is not something that we can just ignore. Based on the report the virus is very destructive and reportedly Microsoft even offered $250,000 to those who can provide information leading to the source of this virus. So instead of sleeping I’m here blogging about it while scanning my computer. Here is a video I got from youtube regarding the Conflicker Virus:
My antivirus already found 4 infection as of the moment, I just hope that this is not related to this April Fool’s Day Virus. So please update your antivirus and check your computer. It’s better safe than sorry.

This virus is not a joke anymore.
Yes, that’s true. Good thing my scan only detected low level virus not this April Fool’s Day Virus or Conflicker C. Thank God!
No problems at all, surprisingly enough- considering I have Time Warner Cable’s RoadRunner (which almost everyone has, so people try to nail users on the cable company). I am keeping up with several blogs though, hoping I can get some input from users who HAVE had this already.
Its no joke my friend got it. Now his computer is useless. He got a popup that said something like ‘Happy April Fool’s Day! Your computer just got wiped of all memory!’ I feel bad for the people who got it.
@ Matt – it’s good to know that your computer is clean from this Conflicker C virus but Dawn’s friend on the other hand is not so lucky.
@ Dawn – that’s really sad. I’ll try to find ways to retrieve data from virus attack and i’ll let you know.
April is not a good month to start
I hope this is the last.
My son’s computer is apparently infected with this virus , his computer will not let him update his microsoft but his virus protection is up to date and finds nothing . Does anyone know how I can fix this problem without infecting the rest of his computer?
@ queenbee – I believe the April Fool’s Virus has a different effect. I think the problem with Microsoft update is a totally different issue. I’ll check some info and I’ll try to let you know.
@queenbee – it might be related to the conficker c as it blocks the microsoft update website… try to check with the other antivirus website if you can get to them like mcafee and symantec. If you can’t open the website chances are you are infected by conficker or some other virus…
